Dr. (Mrs.) WAD Nayananjalie from Sri Lanka has more than 10 years long career dedicated to teaching, research and administration. She has been working as a Senior Lecturer in Animal Science, attached to Department of Animal and Food Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. She completed her Ph.D. from the Department of Dairy Science, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg (VA), USA in 2012. She received her B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture specialized in Animal Science in 2001 and M.Sc. Degree in Biotechnology in 2004 from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. After successful completion of B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees, she worked as a Demonstrator (contract basis) in the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and thereafter in Department of Agricultural Systems, Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Afterwards, she was recruited as a Lecturer to the Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka in 2007. During University carrier, she has been awarded few fellowships and among those, Graduate assistantship to follow the Ph.D. from Department of Dairy Science, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA and NFP-KOP Fellowship from Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen, Netherlands can be highlighted. After she joined to the Department of Animal and Food Sciences in 2007 as a Lecturer, she was assigned to teach and conduct practical classes on many subjects related to Animal Science. Major subject areas that she is involved, are Ruminant Management, Poultry and Swine Management, Animal Feeding and Nutrition, Applied Animal Nutrition, Practical Animal Production, Forage Management, Aquaculture and Dairy Technology. Other than teaching undergraduates, she conducts and guides students in the practical classes. Further, she has supervised more than 30 students at their final year research projects. She has obtained number of research grants from the University to carry out the research. Most of the research works have been presented at professional forums and published more than 30 research articles as full papers both in local and international reputed journal. She has reviewed many journal articles and articles in the proceedings for international and local journals such as International Science and Technology Conference, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, International Symposium on Agriculture and Environment, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, International Journal of Livestock Research, International Journal of Advance Agricultural Research, Tropical Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, iPURSE, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, International Conference on Dry Zone Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, Journal of Agriculture, Eastern University of Sri Lanka, International Research Symposium of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and Annual Research Symposium, Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Further, she has participated as an invited speaker to the International Livestock Conference and 23rd Annual Convention of ISAPM, 2016 held at Hyderabad, India.
