The present study was conducted to critically analyze the constraints perceived by Hill Korwa tribes in following scientific animal husbandry practices. Data were collected from 200 respondents from Surguja district of Chhattisgarh state through a pre-tested structured interview schedule. The data were analyzed by Garrett’s ranking technique to prioritize the constraints according to rank. Lack of good breeding male (Mean score of 69.90), unavailability of concentrate feeds (Mean score of 56.50), non-availability of the veterinarians in time (Mean score of 62.40), involvement of high cost in scientific management of animals (Mean score of 58.20) and high transportation cost (Mean score of 63.30) were observed as major constraints regarding breeding, feeding, health care, management and marketing, respectively. Provision of improved breed of livestock, supply of medicines and treatment to the livestock, supply of concentrate mixture, provision of bank loan/credit facility and strengthening of veterinary services at village level can overcome the constraints perceived by the respondents related to animal husbandry among Hill Korwa tribes in the study area.
