Livestock sector contributing majorly to the livelihood of rural India accounts to a larger share in agricultural GDP. Livestock is evenly distributed across different region, caste, class and status. For sustainable livestock production, timely and ready to use information has to be disseminated to the end users. An Android mobile application on fodder production help the farmers to access the information in regional language. It acts as a ready reckoner. A study was undertaken to assess socio-economic characteristics of Fodder App users and their correlation trends with the change in knowledge due to fodder App usage. The study revealed that the correlation of knowledge gain with education and herd size was positive and highly significant (P <0.0001). However the correlation between knowledge gain and age, farming experience, operational land holding, extension contact and mass media exposure was not significant but positive. Hence it can be concluded that farmers with good education background and rearing more number of animals are most likely to be oriented towards technology for knowledge gain to improve their farming.
