The present study investigated marketing of milk products and animals in Rajasthan by using secondary information on different aspects on or afterwards years 2000-01. Results of the study revealed that per day milk procurement, price of milk, number of DCS (Dairy cooperative Society), members of DCS, sale of fluid milk, sale of ghee, sale of cattle feed have increased by 193.57, 216.93, 135.38 and 74.70, 245.96, 257.04, 163.48 per cent in 2015-16 over base period (2000-01) while quantity of milk supplied to NMG and quantity of table butter have decreased by 35.08 and 13.28 per cent, respectively, during the same period. Growth rate in terms of per cent per annum was positive for milk procurement (6.24) price of milk (9.65), number of registered DCS (5.88), number of members of DCS (3.45), local milk marketing (8.41), ghee (7.08) and cattle feed (4.08) during 2000-01 to 2015-16 while it was negative for milk supplied to NMG (-15.34) and table butter (-6.49). The arrivals of animals in fairs have declined from 1.38 lakh to 0.79 lakh during the period of last 15 years. Like arrivals, transactions of animals in fairs have also declined from 65 thousand to 36 thousand during the same period. Only about half of the total numbers of animals brought are sold in fairs. The declining trend in number of animals brought to fairs was observed in all types of species of animals except horses, where it was increasing. A similar trend was observed also found in transactions of animals in fairs in all types of species of animals except buffalo, horses and goat. The percentage of transactions to arrivals in cattle fairs have improved in camel and goat only during period. The growth was negative for both the arrivals and transaction of animals in Rajasthan, it was more pronounced in transaction (-3.03%) than arrivals (-2.85%) of animals in cattle fairs. A declining trend in arrival of animals was observed in all cattle fairs except Jaswant fair organised at Bharatpur and similar trend in transactions of animals in all cattle fairs except Shivratri fair organised at Karauli and Baldeo fair organised at Nagaur district.
