Dr. A.Arulmozhi (Ph.D., Diplomate ICVP) has 20 years career dedicated to research, education, extension and administration. She started her professional education in 1991 from Madras Veterinary College, TANUVAS. She got ICAR fellowship for pursuing her M.V.Sc., studies and completed her M.V.Sc., degree at Kerala Agricultural University in the year 1999. She served in the Animal husbandry department as Veterinary Assistant Surgeon from 1999 to 2005. Then she had joined as Assistant Professor in one of the most reputed veterinary university in India, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University during the year 2005. She completed her Ph.D., at Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, TANUVAS in the year 2015. She cleared the most prestigious diplomate board examination conducted by Indian College of Veterinary Pathologists in the year 2014. She had done her extensive research work on Aflatoxicosis in broilers and viral immunosuppressive diseases in poultry during her M.V.Sc., and Ph.D., program respectively. She has special interest on avian pathology and experimental oncology.
She worked in Avian Disease Laboratory, TANUVAS from 2005 to 2007 and involved in post-mortem, culture, virology and vaccine preparation. Then she joined in Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal in 2007. She involves in UG, PG and Ph.D., teaching, post-mortem examination of various livestock and poultry, histopathology screening of clinical samples, field samples and experimental trials and clinio- pathology diagnosis of various samples from 2007 to till date. She is instrumental in developing UG, PG and Ph.D., teaching and practical manuals. Her innovative research has brought about more than 70 publications in reputed journals. In addition, she has contributed 75 popular articles, 10 book chapters and 13 conference proceedings. Besides she has been the editor of different training manuals, compendium and souvenir. She has handled two TNSC&ST projects on ethano veterinary projects against aflatoxicosis and avian bacterial diseases.
She has been serving as member of the Editorial Board of the international journal of livestock research and has worked as reviewer for national journals such as Journal of applied biology and biotechnology, International Journal of Livestock Research and North – East Veterinarian. She has attended and presented research papers in various national and international conferences. Dr. Arulmozhi has been bestowed with more than twenty awards/recognition of different national professional societies.
She has guided two M.V.Sc., students and her students have worked on metapneumovirus in poultry and hepatocellular carcinoma in rats. She acted as advisory committee member for 10 M.V.Sc., and 01 Ph.D., students. She has delivered several lectures in the refresher courses for Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, Livestock inspectors and Laboratory technicians. She acted as co-organizing secretary for IAVP south zone conference, International workshop on avian diseases and Animal health conference.
She has been external examiner and question paper setter for UG and PG of various colleges and universities such as KVASU – Kerala, RIVER – Pondicherry, KVAFSU – Karnataka, NTRCVSU – Andhra Pradesh and TANUVAS – Chennai. She also worked in various committees of national and international seminars and symposium. She also gives training / handling classes to the externship students from Bangaladesh from 2012 onwards. In addition, she had special assignment like NSS program officer, Deputy warden, All india study tour officer, Student ward counsellor, Joint secretary for tamil mandram and Executive member in TANUVAS teacher association and staff club of VCRI, Namakkal.
At present, she has been imparting clinical pathology and histopathology training to the undergraduate, postgraduate students and field veterinarians at one of the renowned veterinary universities of India and pursuing research work in the field of oncology and avian pathology to provide substantial aid to the livestock and poultry farmers.
