He is currently working as a Scientist-II at Animal Nutrition Group of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Anand, Gujarat, India since October, 2012. He graduated (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) from West Bengal University of Animal and Fisheries Sciences, Kolkata, Post graduate (M.V.Sc in Animal Nutrition) from Anand Agricultural University (AAU), Anand, Gujarat and Doctorate (Animal Nutrition) from National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal with merit certificate being the First class First (Divisional).
His research expertise is on methane emission measurement and mitigation strategy from livestock, through both in vitro and in vivo trials under field condition, enhancing animal productivity in an environmentally sustainable way; use of appropriate enzymes for improvement of crop residue digestibility and utilization by ruminants; diversity study of rumen microbial population, alteration of ruminal bio-hydrogenation process for improvement of health beneficial fatty acid profiles with an special emphasis on conjugates linoleic acid (CLA), omega fatty acids, ratio of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids in ruminant derived food products such as milk and meat.
Apart from this, his almost 7 years career dedicated to the upliftment of the dairy farmers of the country by providing training and extension activities. He is engaged in giving regular training to the dairy farmers, supervisors, skilled personals, trainers, officers and administrators on different animal nutrition related activities and their implementation at farmers level.
He has published 11 International research papers, 9 National research papers, 9 Review articles, 3 Invited lectures in compendiums of Training, Conference/ Seminar, 14 popular articles and 41 Abstracts in different Seminars/ symposiums/ conference. He has attended 18 National and International Training/ Seminar/ Conference/ Symposium/ Workshop and presented oral and poster. He has received one best oral presentation award (First prize) and one best poster award (Second place) in International Conferences. He has received merit scholarship during the entire UG and Ph.D. programme. He is the recipient of ‘YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD’ for outstanding contribution in the field of Animal Science by Science & Tech Society for Integrated Rural Improvement (S&T SIRI) in National conference on ‘Doubling Farmers Income for Sustainable and Harmonious Agriculture (DISHA-2017) during 9 – 10th September, 2017 held at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, AP, India and ‘OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD’ in the field of Animal Science in National conference on ‘Promoting & Reinvigorating Agri-Horti, Technological Innovations (PRAGATI-2017)’ organized by Academy of Environment & Life Sciences, and Bulletin of Environment, Pharmacology & Life Sciences Agra, UP at Dhanbad, Jharkhand during 11-12th Nov, 2017. He is the life time member of Veterinary Council of India (VCI), West Bengal Veterinary Council (WBVC), Animal Nutrition Association (ANA), Animal Nutrition Society of India (ANSI), International Society for Environmental Information Sciences, Canada, and Science and Tech Society for Integrated Rural Improvement (S & T SIRI). He is the reviewer of several reputed and esteemed journal such as Tropical Animal Health and Production, Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology, Journal of Dairy Research, International Journal of Biometeorology, International Journal of Livestock Research, Advances in Animal and Veterinary Sciences etc.
