He is having Research experience of 23 years in the areas of Cytogenetics, Animal Breeding, Molecular Genetics and Transcriptomics. Research contribution for 7 years towards Yak Genetic Improvement. Presently focused in areas Bovine Genetic Resources for Characterization, Evaluation and Genetic Improvement of Indigenous Cattle with special reference to Deoni breed towards improvement of disease tolerance, adaptability and lactation performances. Contributed significantly in the areas of detection of subclinical mastitis through Somatic Cell Count and Quantitative Trait Nucleotide based approach; use of QTL association with production, reproduction and disease tolerance traits (especially udder health and FMD) towards early selection of dairy animals. Published 85 Research papers of International and national repute. Guided 8 PhD and 7 MVSc students. Handled 8 Externally Funded Research projects including two inter-institute collaborative Projects. Currently working in the area of controlling early embryonic mortality in Buffaloes using CRISPR/Cas9 tool.
