Dr. Dilip Reddy Gunturu

Assistant Professor & Head Department of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University College of Veterinary Science Proddatur - YSR District Andhra Pradesh – India

He completed his graduation (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) and Post-graduation (M.V.Sc in Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology) from Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University, College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Completed PhD in Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad. Engaged in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students of Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology discipline and Successfully guided three MVSc (Master’s) students as chairman of the advisory committee and two students as member. Previously worked at Indian Immunologicals Ltd., Hyderabad, India, as Senior Executive of Veterinary Services and involved in Veterinary pharmacovigilance and monitoring of Veterinary clinical trials. Before that worked at Panacea Biotec Ltd., New Delhi, India, as Scientist and involved in screening of the drug candidates for their in vivo efficacy, in house pre-clinical toxicity studies, pharmacokinetics, evaluating vaccines candidates for immunogenicity and developing animal models of disease for screening of drug candidates. Completed two research projects. Published 20 research papers of National and international repute, One book chapter, 5 popular articles and 20 Abstracts in different Seminars/ symposiums/ conferences. Attended 25 National and International Training/ Seminar/ Conference/ Symposium/ Workshop for oral and poster presentations. Affiliated with Andhra Pradesh Veterinary Council, Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (ISVPT), Society of Toxicology (STOX), India, Indian Pharmacological Society (IPS) and Society of Agri-nanotechnology (AgriNano) as Life member. His present research revolves around the preparation, characterization and evaluation of modified formulations (Nanoparticles, Nano-suspensions, microspheres etc.) of various veterinary drugs to improve their pharmacokinetics, efficacy and safety.
