Assistant Professor Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Akola (Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur)
He is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding at Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences , Akola, Maharashtra, I ndia since July , 2009 . He graduated (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) and Post graduated (M.V.Sc in Animal Genetics and Breeding ) with first class division from Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) , Nagpur ,Maharashtra . He has qualified ICAR –NET examination and presently undergoing his Doctoral education (Animal Genetics and Breeding) from MAFSU, Nagpur.
His research expertise is on phenotypic and genetic characterization of native germplasm, conservation, study of candidate milk and fecundity genes, breeding data analysis, population genetics, molecular genetics etc.
He is engaged in teaching of postgraduate students of Animal Genetics and Breeding discipline and has guided one M.V.Sc. student as major guide and 7 M.V.Sc. students as Minor guide. He has edited 6 Practical manuals, 4 Souvenirs and 2 booklets. Apart from this, his almost 10 years career dedicated to the extension education through training to goat, poultry as well as dairy farmers. He is engaged in giving regular training to the LDOs, livestock keepers, farmers, and supervisors, skilled personals, on different animal genetics and breeding related activities and their implementation at farmer’s level.
He has published 10 research papers of National and international repute, 4 review articles, 11 technical articles , 8 popular articles and 55 Abstracts in different Seminars/ symposiums/ conference. He has attended 20 National and International Training/ Seminar/ Conference/ Symposium/ Workshop and presented oral and poster. He has received one best oral presentation award (First prize) coauthor in 2 Best paper award and 2 best poster award in National Conferences. He has received merit scholarship during high school period. He is the recipient of ‘Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Personality Development Award’ imparted for Best student in 2006 at Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur.
He is the reviewer of several reputed and esteemed journal such as Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, Indian Journal of Animal Research etc. He has affiliated with Maharashtra State Veterinary Council, Indian Society of Animal Genetics and Breeding, Society of Conservation of Domestic Animal Biodiversity, Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice, Indian Association for Advancement of Veterinary Research as a Life Member.
