She started her professional education in 1995 from College of veterinary science,Tirupati, AndhraPradesh,India.She completed her M.V.Sc at College of veterinary science,Tirupati, AndhraPradesh in the year2002.She received Chalimeda Janaki Devi memorial gold medal for having highest OGPA in MVSc.She worked as veterinary Assistant surgeon in Animal Husbandry department from 2002-2004.Then she joined as Assistant Professor at NTR College of veterinary science,Gannavaram in the year 2004.She completed her PhD at College of veterinary science,Tirupati, AndhraPradesh in the year2014.She received Hyderabad race club gold medal for having highest OGPA in PhD. She has 16 years of experiences in the field of research, teaching and extension. She handled four research projects as Principal Investigator funded by State/ Central Government. She has vast experience in management of cattle, buffalo, goat, pig, rabbit and laboratory animals. Her research priority area is to improve the performance of various livestock species through scientific management practices. She received Raj kumari mukhara devi award for the best paper presented in the international conference organized by Indian Society of Animal Production and Management (ISAPM) at Hyderabad during 2016. She has very good capability of teaching and organized/ conducted a large number of training/ demonstration programmes for Scientists/ Veterinarians / men and women farmers/ rural youths . Dr. P.Ashalatha has67 publications in her credit which include research papers ( 20), technical articles/ bulletins(25), invited lectures(10), abstracts(7), manuals(i), folders (4) of national and international repute. She has authored three books in vernacular language for the benefit of farming community.. She was a paper setter, and thesis evaluator and External Examiner of many veterinary Universities . Dr. P.Ashalatha guided 4 M.V.Sc students as chairmen. and acted as Member of Advisory Committee for four M.V.Sc studentst. She acted Chairman, raporteur of many seminar/ symposia/ conferences/ workshops/ kisan melas . Dr.P.Ashalatha acted as course coordinator for the mtc course on “improving the core competencies of women livestock extension professionals” from 23-10-17 to 30-10-2017. She acted as course director and organised Model training course on” integrated farming systems for livelihood security under changing climate scenario in indian farming” from 12-19 th November 2018 funded by Ministry of Agriculture GOI. She is acting as a executive member for IJAPM for women chapter since 2014.She received outstanding women in veterinary sciences award in 2018from venus international foundation Chennai. She received Bharat excellence award 2019 and Leading educationalist award 2019 from Friend ship forum ,NewDelhi.
