The assessment of semen quality is a prerequisite for the selection of a superior male for any successful breeding program. The present study was conducted to provide the mineral profile in all three fractions of ejaculate in Chippiparai dogs. The semen samples (n=6) were collected from healthy Chippiparai male dogs. The physical qualities were examined immediately after the collection, and the three fractions of semen were separated and maintained at 37°C until further analysis in the laboratory. The concentrations of the minerals like sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, and magnesium were analyzed by the standard methods and techniques using spectrophotometry. The result reported the data on mineral profile in all three fractions of semen in Chippiparai dogs were higher than the values obtained from the foreign breeds of dogs, which might be the reason for the higher percentage of motile sperms in the native breeds of dogs. The high quality of Chippiparai dog semen could be utilized to cater to the purpose of perpetuate this declining, valuable indigenous breed of dog.
